SHUKLA on The People’s Science Revolution Prof. Shukla is a labor activist, writer and founder of “Jan Vigyan Samiti” and a leading figure in India’s People’s Science Movement (PSM). A former professor of Physics at IIT Kanpur, Prof. Shukla has made significant contributions to the philosophy of People’s Science and has been active in labor movements and alternative development in India. The People’s Science Movement is a vibrant nationwide movement in India encouraging mass participation in matters of development and intervention in science-related policy formation. PSM has not only made popularization of science a mass movement but has mobilized the public on social issues in which Science and Technology have a bearing. When: Thursday, July 6th, 2006 at 7:00pm
